Some people just hate the thought of exercise. Honestly this is an attitude that once you actually start exercising you will be amazed that you ever had it. But still getting motivated or getting over your fear of exercising that you have to get started can be quite hard for some people. So today we are looking at some fun ways you can burn some fat, get healthy and get introduced to fitness.
One of the most fun ways that you can work up a serious sweat is by hitting the floor and getting down. I am not saying you need to hit your local night club on a Saturday night. But I bet my bottom dollar your local area will have some kind of hip hop, Zumba or maybe even something with a little spice like Flamenco! No matter what it is if you go to a dance class, I promise you that by the end of it not only would you have burned some serious calories, but you would also have had a great deal of fun as well!
Ok I will admit I stole this idea from a friend, but it’s so great I want to share it with you guys. The idea is that you and a friend or a few friends get together and you simply go for a run. The trick here that makes it seem more fun and a social gathering rather than an exercise thing is that you run to a certain area or checkpoint if you will. Stop and rest for a minute or two, have a quick drink and chat and you are off again! If you are brand new to exercising then I would recommend that rather than running you start off just walking together.
Steal Your Kids Video Games!
Using a Nintendo Wii or a Xbox with a Kinect is a great way to exercise in the comfort of your own home, but also have some fun doing it. Many of these fitness games are designed for people of all fitness levels. And some of them do feel more like a game than a work out routine, as a result you are having fun and not realising that you are working out and then all of a sudden it’s done and you have burned a decent amount of calories.
Playing With The Kids
If your kids forgive you for stealing their video games then get your kids to help your burn off a few calories! Wrestle with them, throw them around, have fun! When you are roughhousing with your kids you have no idea just how much of a good sweat you are working up. Also play sports with your kids, basketball, football or whatever it is they are into. As well as helping you get a little fitter, playing with your kids is a great way to roll back the years and remember what it’s like to be a kid again!
What on earth is Larping I can hear some of you ask. Well Larp stands for Live Action Role Playing. And I know this is a stretch for some of your guys and you may think its “weird” but hear me out. Larping sees you and many others dress up in some fantasy type clothes (or some do sci-fi) and you have weapons (not real ones of course) and then you battle! It sounds silly, but it’s a great deal of fun and you will be using many different muscles as you play battle with people. Also the costumes that many Larpers wear are heavy and will give you a good cardio workout as well. It may sound odd, but Larping will burn some calories and you will have a blast in the process.
