Ah Sunday, probably my favorite day of the week. To me Sunday is a real lazy day where I spend the majority of it just lounging around the house. We may go out somewhere for the day occasionally, but for the most part for me a Sunday is the day of the week when I recharge my batteries for the work week ahead. But then I came to realize that instead of spending hours doing nothing I could spend as little as say 45 minutes of my Sunday to help me with my weight loss during the week. Now this is not some big endless list of things. I just have three things for you to do on your Sunday that I promise will aid your weight loss.
Now some people like to buy little mini packets of biscuits, potato chips or whatever to take to work. You even get some people who think they are being healthy by taking in little store bought mini bags of “healthy” snacks to fuel them while they are at work. But these most of the time can be expensive and are usually not all that healthy. The best way to ensure every day at work will see you snacking on healthy food is to buy big bags of stuff like almonds for example or whatever it is you like to have as your healthy snack. Then just take five minutes to sort them into five bags for each day you are at work. This saves you having to do it on the morning before work and late at night when you come home. And it helps your weight loss by taking away the temptation to grab a snack out of a vending machine.
I can’t make a weeks’ worth of breakfast on a Sunday I can hear you saying, but actually yes you can. The way you do this is with our tasty and healthy friend the hard-boiled egg. On a Sunday I will hard boil enough eggs so that I can have two each morning for breakfast and I usually sweeten the deal by having a fresh piece of fruit as well. Hard boiled eggs and fruit is a great way to get your body working without eating calorie filled foods. Making them on a Sunday ensures that when you wake up each morning you have no excuse for not eating a healthy breakfast. I know that on some mornings the last thing you want to do is make breakfast. This is what leads us to grabbing a donut or some other kind of pastry on the way to work and derailing our weight loss. This can be avoided by taking a little time on Sunday to just hard boil a few eggs.
You get home from a long day’s work and before you have your dinner you raid the fridge, pantry, drawers or maybe even the garbage can for a snack to get you by. Problem with this is most of the time we grab the first snack we can find. To make this easier for yourself spend a little time on Sunday chopping up things like cucumbers and some delicious red peppers. This way after work you can grab a hand full of them instead of a hand full of M & M’s.
