Me and my other half were together in a long distance relationship for probably close to a year before we moved in together. I am not going to go into all the details of why we were in a long distance relationship, sorry to say it’s not that exciting just a case of we were at two different colleges. But as hard as it was we made a long distance relationship work and I want to share how we did it with you guys. These are all 100 percent from the heart ways we made it work by the way. So trust me when I tell you that if we made it work then you can make it work.
Making A Long Distance Relationship Work : Talk Everyday
We would make it a point to talk each and every day. Sure there may have been the odd day when it was not possible, but we would go above and beyond to at least have a little five minute chat. Sometimes we would talk for ages, but one thing we made it a point to do was never dwell on the fact that we were apart. We realized pretty early on that if we were going to make this work then we would have to talk on the phone and be happy. Not all sad because we could not be with each other.
Making A Long Distance Relationship Work : Visit When You Can
Of course if you are at the other end of the country or even in a different part of the world then it’s going to be impossible to see each other each weekend. But make sure you see each other as much as you can. You may have to make some sacrifices to make this happen. For example, you may have to miss hitting the bars with your buddies one night to pay for gas money so you can drive and see them.
Making A Long Distance Relationship Work : Send Little Gifts
I am not saying that you have to arrange for a brand spanking new Mercedes to be delivered, but if you know there is a new album or a new DVD that they are interested in, then buy them it as a little gift. For example, there was this New Kids On The Block greatest hits cd…… I know what you are thinking and I am right there with you, but she loved them as a kid and mentioned she liked the look of this cd. So I ordered it and sent it to her as a surprise. To say she loved it is an understatement, but I think that it was the fact I did it as a surprise she loved more than the gift itself.
Making A Long Distance Relationship Work : You Have To Trust Each Other
If there is no trust then your long distance relationship will simply not work. I am talking about 100 percent trust in each other. If there is even a little bit of doubt in regards to them staying faithful to you, then I hate to tell you this, but your long distance relationship is doomed. We knew we were meant to be together so if I said “hey I am going out with the guys tonight” she would just tell me to have a good time and we would speak tomorrow. Likewise if she was going out with her friends, I trusted her completely and likewise I would tell her to have some fun.
