We all want to have more money at the end of each month, maybe to save up a little bit for a new dress, vacation or some household repairs that need doing. No matter what there are a million things we would like or like to do if we had a couple extra bucks at the end of the month. Well today I have a few helpful tips that will not make you a millionaire, but they can make your money go a little further and make it so you have a little more disposable income.
Save Your Money : Clear Your Credit Card Debt
The first thing that most money men or financial advisors will tell you to do is clear your credit card debt. Credit cards can be handy, but the interest charges on them can add up and really see you paying over the odds. One way to combat this is if you cannot afford to pay them off all at once look at taking out a loan to pay them off. This may sound strange, but must loans will have a far lower interest rate than your credit card which can save you hundreds in the long run and you may even be able to repay the loan at a lower monthly rate as well!
Save Your Money : Write A Shopping List
The amount of food that the average house hold throws out a month is just disgusting and I would best most of the food you throw out is stuff that you buy in impulse when you are grocery shopping. Check your fridge, cupboards and whatever and write a list of the food that you need and then stick to that list! You will be amazed at how much money you save when you stick to a shopping list as opposed to just shopping without one.
Save Your Money : Shop Around For Insurance
I am talking about all kinds of insurance here. Do not just blindly renew your insurance with your current provider when it is time to. Look around and go for who is offering the best deal. These insurance companies have no loyalty to us so why should we be loyal to them. Just go for the best car, home and whatever kind of insurance you need, deal you can find. Get the most you can for the least amount of money!
Save Your Money : Learn To Say NO
How many times have you gone into a store to buy say a new cell phone, computer or something else. And you end up singing on for extra insurance, extra bells and whistles and go knows what else and then when you get home you are kicking yourself for doing so. Well, just learn to say no. If you go into a store looking for a new phone and you know what you want just buy that and, when they start with their up sale just politely tell them you are in no shape of form interested. This goes for when people cold call your house offering you amazing deals, deals that you really do not want or need so just say NO!
Save Your Money : Have Nights In With Friends
One thing me and my group of friends have done is we have stopped going out for dinner and out to bars. We now take turns hosting each other and have just as much fun having a glass of wine, some cheaper food and good conversation as we would at an overpriced restaurant eating expensive food and downing even more expensive drinks. A good night out can easily cost you 100 bucks! Whereas throwing a little get together with your friends in your own home can be just as much fun, but a fraction of the cost.
