You are making celery your snake of choice, you are sure that you know what is good and what’s is bad for you. In general you in your heart really do believe that you are doing everything right when it comes to losing weight. But for some odd reasons the weight is just not coming off. Well there are many small mistakes that people trying to lose weight can make. These small mistakes make it so you are not losing the weight that you should be. So today let’s look at some of the things that are stopping you losing weight.
Not Knowing Your Calorie Intake
Breaking it down into its simplest form, losing weight is about burning more calories than you are consuming. You do this then you will lose weight, it really on paper is that simple. The problem is far too many people all over the world are over estimating how many calories they need. So let’s say that you think that your body requires around 2,000 calories per day. But really when you break it down and do the proper research you need 1,800. Then those extra 200 calories you are consuming per day is enough to make you put weight on!
Not Exercising Properly
Some people do not exercise because they have a busy life and think they do not have to as they are walking the kids to school, running various errands and pretty much never sitting still. While this is great and you will be burning some calories, at the end of the day the amount that you are burning is not enough to make a real substantial difference. If you exercise for say just 20 minutes per day at a good intensity then you will burn a good amount of calories and lose weight.
Not Watching Your Portion Size
Eating healthy is clearly one of the main things that will make you lose weight, but you still need to have an eye on your portion size. One of the main reasons that people who are on diets are not losing as much weight as they would like is that they are still putting a huge mountain of food on their plates. One way to watch your portion sizes when you are on a diet is if you make a nice tasty meal, cut it in half and put half of it in the fridge or the freezer to keep for the next day. And another little tip that I always love to give is to get smaller plates! Using a smaller plate means you put less food on your plate.
Not Preparing Before You Eat Out
As a parent I know that sometimes you find yourself out with the kids and then BAM you are at a McDonalds. So it’s pretty hard to plan all the time, but one thing you should do is if you know you are going out for a meal with your friends then check online at the restaurant’s menu before you go and figure out what the healthiest option for your diet is. This way you are less likely to order something on impulse. Also if you do find yourself in a fast food joint because there is nothing else, if you have done some research you will find that there are some more healthy options for you in places like Burger King and McDonalds.
