There must be nothing worse than when a person decides that they want to lose some weight, but the information they have been giving actually does the opposite and makes them gain weight! Sadly there are a lot of things passed down from generation to generation that are simply not true and worst of all thanks to the internet many of these bogus weight loss ideas are seen by millions. Today I want to bust a few of these weight loss ideas that actually will make you put weight on.
You Can Eat As Much Healthy Foods As You Want
The first step to losing weight is eating healthy food and getting rid of stuff that is bad for you. This is just common sense really and something everyone knows. But some people make the mistake of thinking that all this healthy food does not contain any calories. All calories add up and if you eat more calories and do not burn them off, then guess what? You are going to put on weight. Things that are classed as good for you still contain calories, for example whole wheat pasta is nice and healthy, but it also contains calories. Everything contains calories so make sure you do not over indulge even on healthy foods!
As Long As You Are Working Out You Can Eat What You Want
Hey this is true if you are working out for say five or six hours a day. But for the average person doing say 30-60 minutes of exercise at a time you cannot eat what you want and expect to stay the same weight. This is one weight loss myth that needs to be busted big time! The worst part of this is that some people will lose weight thanks to a sensible diet and then they will think as long as they exercise they can start to eat all those calorie filled snacks and not put weight on from them. Exercising does not give you a license to eat what you want and not put on weight.
Dropping A Crazy Amount Of Weight In A Short Time
You can lose ten pounds in just a couple of weeks is something that many of the trendy weight loss programs are promising people these days. The fact of the matter is this, yes, it is totally possible to lose this amount of weight in two weeks, and for some people who do diet right, exercise and do not resort to crazy fad diets this happens. But for most regular Joes like you and me it’s not going to happen unless we crash diet or take up some other kind of diet that our bodies cannot function on. Never aim to lose a ton of weight in a short amount of time, you will just end up putting it back on. Losing weight should be done is a slow, controlled and safe way and not in a quick fix.
You Cannot Go Wrong With Salad
In theory salad should be the perfect option for a person trying to lose weight. Most fast food places and restaurants will have some kind of salad. The problem is not the salad, but the various dressings and toppings that places and people like to dump on top. Many people slip up when it comes to toppings on salad. A salad does not magically make that huge blob of ranch dressing you put on it suddenly lose all of its calories!
