You may be the most dedicated person in the world when it comes to healthy eating, but there is bound to be a time when you are just stuck and the only place for you to grab a bite to eat is the big golden arches. As a parent my kids would live at McDonalds and at first I would just sit there with a drink while they stuffed a Happy Meal into their faces. But the truth is I felt I was missing out and even those of us who eat healthy need a treat every once and a while. So I looked into what are the more healthy options that McDonalds have. Yes that is right, the good old standard, classic McDonalds hamburger. You may think I have gone mad, but a regular McDonalds hamburger comes in at only 250 calories. They taste good, they are pretty filling and they are also one of the cheapest items on the McDonalds menu no matter what part of the world you are in. OMG you have no idea how much I love McDonalds chicken nuggets! The average box of chicken nuggets that has 6 of these delicious little things in it comes in at 280 calories which really is not terrible and for a once and a while treat or if McDonalds is your only option for grabbing a bite to eat. Then it’s really not that bad. The trouble I will say with this and this could be just me here, is that these are so addictive and on more than one occasion I have found myself buying a second box as soon as I am done! But if you are more strong-willed than me you will be fine.

While this may come in at around 320 calories this most of the time would be my dinner of choice if I found myself at McDonalds at say 5 or 6pm. The key here is not to have any dressing on the salad and eat it as it comes. If you add the dressing then it adds around another 100 calories to it. The reason though that I have put this on here is that it is not a ton of calories that you are consuming and it is actually very filling and serves well as a main meal.
