Job Interview Perfected - Expert Tips To Stay Focused

You may have smashed the written part of the job application process, but ultimately it is going to be how you sell yourself and behave during your actual job interview that dictates if you get the job or not. A job interview can leave you feeling like a nervous wreck and today we are looking at ways to combat those job interview nerves that can get in the way of you landing that job. Please read on for some tips on how to keep those nerves at bay!

Prepare For The Job Interview

One way to make sure that you are a stuttering nervous wreck when you go in for an job interview is to not do any preparation. Think about what you want the job, what you are going to say, possible potential questions and do a little homework on the company you are interviewing at. You can never be 100 percent sure of what they are going to ask you, but by preparing you will at least put your mind at ease a little bit. If you need to have a resume printed out do not do it the morning of the jobinterview, do not wait until the morning of the interview to find the way to drive. Preparation can save you so much stress on the day!

Call A Friend Before You Go

One way to take away stress and calm your nerves before you go in for the job interview is to call one of your friends on the morning of your interview. Just call them so that they can be your cheerleader and get you pumped up for your interview.

Ask To Leave Your Bag, Coat And Whatever At Reception

You do not want to be fumbling with a coat, bag and god knows what else when you walk into the interview room. Ask the reception if there is any way that you can leave things that you do not need there. When you walk into an interview room it can really throw you off if you have a bag and a bunch of stuff and you see nowhere to put it! This is a totally unnecessary stress that you can easily avoid.

Sit Up Nice And Straight

When you walk into the interview room and you are asked to take a seat, do not slouch in your seat, it gives off a very bad impression. Make sure you are sitting straight up and that you are not fighting with your hands or anything like that. Sit up straight and be sure of yourself before the job interview even starts.

Take A Breath Before You Speak

Now do not start breathing in really heavy like you are a fish who has jumped out of his tank. When they ask you a question just take in a discreet little breath before you start to talk. It may not sound like much, but this has been proven to help people out.

Speak Nice And Slowly

Make a real strong effort to make sure you are talking in a proper manor and that you are not talking too fast or that you are talking in slang like you may do with your friends. When we are nervous, we have a habit of talking really fast or rambling. In a job interview a great way to stay calm is to make a real concentrated effort in talking nice, slow and clear.
