When losing weight its really nice to be able to treat ourselves every once in a while with something that is, lets just say less than great for you. That six pack of cheap strawberry yogurts looks like it would make a wonderfully healthy snack, but good ol cheap yogurts are full to the brim of calories! Some cheap yogurts that come in a six ounce (what do you even call the thing a yogurt is packaged in? ) container can have as much sugar in them as three whole cookies! The majority of sugar in these types of yogurts are in the flavoring. The good news is that if you do like yogurts then slice up some fresh strawberries and put them in a plain Greek yogurt for a tasty, but healthy snack.
While diet soda is better than the regular kind, it has been shown that the artificial sweetener that these diet sodas have can really put a downer on your metabolism. So yes diet Pepsi is better than the full fat kind, but if you are really trying to lose weight then you are just best to sticking to water or if you really have a sweet craving, have some low calorie flavored water, but make sure you do not overdue it with the flavored stuff.
16 Ounce Smoothie
A smoothie looks like a great and tasty way to satisfy your hunger cravings when trying to lose weight. The problem with smoothies is that a 16 ounce smoothie, which is what many of the major ones you see in store are, actually contains two 150 calorie servings in it! How crazy is that? I bet you would not swig down that smoothie if you knew it was 300 calories. If smoothies are your thing then make your own. This way you are in total control of the amount of calories that are in in it.
Banana Chips are the perfect snack in some peoples eyes. I mean they are made from bananas for crying out loud how bad could they be? Well pretty bad actually. Banana Chips in most cases are fried. And a bag of them contains nearly half of your daily intake of saturated fat. If you love Banana Chips though instead of reaching for the bag, just reach for an actual banana.
Granola With Skimmed Milk
You may be confused here as Granola is labeled as a healthy snack. The problem with Granola is that its pretty much just sugar and fat, but as its a snack that is labeled as a being healthy. Many people tend to over eat on it. If you do have a craving for something like Granola then instead whip yourself up a pack of instant oats. All you need is hot water and you have a tasty snack that is around half the calories of that bowl of Granola with Skimmed Milk.
