I love my healthy diet I really do. It did take me a while to get on track and stick to my life of healthy eating. But everyone and a while I do have a candy craving. Before I would think nothing of eating a whole four pack of Snickers all by myself, but now I have done some research and found that there are plenty of ways I can cure my candy craving and not destroy my new healthy eating regime.
** Please note that this article is all for fun and that I am not in any way stating that the candy I have mentioned here is 100 percent fat free, healthy and suitable for you hard core health nuts. But if you want to treat yourself in moderation say once a month or whatever then these are good candies to look at!**
Rather Healthy Candy : Gummy Bears
Most super markets these days have the buckets, tubs or whatever of gummy confectionary. I prefer the gummy bears just because I like to bite the heads off. Anyway no matter what kind of gummies you are eating you are actually doing a good thing. You see a hand full of gummies where you eat one or two every once and a while is a great way of giving you a nice sweet treat and stopping those junk food cravings.
Not Ruin You Healthy Eating Regime : 1 Milky Way Midnight
Ok so this is not the healthiest chocolate in the world, but please here me out. Studies have shown that people who eat dark chocolate are an amazing 40 percent less likely to suffer from a stroke or a heart attack. I prefer the Milky Way Midnight Minis, but the dark chocolate Hersey Kisses are a good choice as well. Now I am not saying eat a bag of these every night, but if I get to the point where, if I do not give myself a sweet treat, I am in danger of falling of the healthy eating wagon all together, I will have Milky Way Midnight Minis.
Just Perfect To Stop Sweet Craving: Chewing Gum
Ok so technically, chewing gum is not a candy but it’s actually a great thing that can help crave a sweet tooth and keep you away from the vending machine. Chewing gum has been shown to greatly improve a person’s alertness. So if you are at work and feeling a little sluggish at say three in the afternoon, then rather than reaching for a Red Bull or an energy bar, pop in a piece of chewing gum to help you get a little pick me up without breaking your healthy eating vows. If you want to take this even further than actively look out for chewing gum that is sugar free or low calorie.
Simple Healthy Rule : Split Your Candy
Now this is not tailored to any specific type of candy, but it’s a rule that I have stuck by for a few years now. So say you buy a Snickers bar, Hershey bar or whatever. Instead of eating the whole bar split it in half and give half of it to a friend or family member who is with you at the time. This right away means you are consuming half the calories the bar has and you are feeding your sweet cravings as well, but at half the calories.
