Some peoples cardio workout consists of doing say 15 minutes of four different machines and then they are done. This is a great way to get started, but if you really want to burn fat fast and get the most out of your cardio sessions then by doing interval training you will be burning far more calories in the same amount of time. Here are a few of the major benefits of interval training.
Get More For Less
If you are tight on time and you want to have a super-efficient work out that is going to make you bust your butt and get amazing results then that is what you get with interval training. So if you only have say a spare 15-20 minutes per day to work out. Then you are not wasting any time with interval training you are just getting straight to it and working your body hard.
You Burn More Fat
This one right here should be enough to make you take notice of interval training. You will burn more calories doing 15 minutes of interval training than you will just running on a treadmill for an hour or in a park. As well as burning far more calories interval training also keeps your body burning more calories and fat for 24 hours after your workout. If you want to blast the fat away then you need to be doing interval training.
You Are Working Your Heart
When exercising and getting in shape people often overlook the most important muscle in the body and that is the heart. Interval training will make it feel like your heart is about to burst out of your chest. This is called the anaerobic zone and it’s when you are pushing yourself to the max! Interval training has been proven to make people much fitter in as little as just eight weeks!
You Do Not Need A Gym
While it’s true that pretty much every piece of cardio equipment at your gym will have an interval training setting on it, you can also do interval training in the comfort of your own home or at the park. Do really fast step ups, jumping jacks and other things that are going to make you work to the absolute max! A 15 minute circuit at home of things like star jumps, step ups, jumping jacks, burpees and squat thrusts will have you pumped up!
You Lose Weight And Not Muscle
One worry for some people when exercising is that as well as losing weight that they are also going to lose muscle. Doing interval training along with some light weight training is the perfect way to make it so that you are burning fat at a crazy rate, but also making sure your body is well toned.
Your Metabolism Burns Like A Furnace
Interval training has been proven to make it so your body wants to produce more human growth hormone. This may sound like something only body builders would want, but the fact of the matter is this will make it so your body will just keep on burning those calories long after you finish your work out. And as an added bonus this has been long suspected to help fight the aging process!
It’s A Real Challenge
One of the things that I personally love about interval training is that after, I feel like a million bucks because I know I have just done a really hard and challenging work out. If getting in shape was easy then we would all be really fit and have amazing bodies. You need to want to push yourself and interval training is the best way to do that!
